Did you watch Death Comes to Pemberley? [poll]

You know George Wickham was always a rascal....

PBS just aired Death Comes to Pemberley in the US which was based on the murder mystery novel by P.D. James.  The two episode mini-series concluded tonight.  Nothing really stood out to me when I read the book but....

The screen writers really brought action to the story line which helped bring everything to life!  There were some great twists and turns as the series progressed.  What really sold me was the historic settings, period rooms and fashion throughout the film. (more on all that below!)

  1. I didn't read the book, but thought the two-part series was great. It was great eye candy ... Loved every minute. And America is a great place for those two troublesome characters .... Lydia too.

    1. To be honest, I found the two-part series far better than the book! I really loved Lydia (she was so dynamic and funny) and of course Mrs. Bennet. I could have used more Mrs. Bennet throughout the whole thing!

    1. LOL Nancy, I see 2 have asked now!

Laurel Ann at austenprose.com has a good bit of info on Pemberley at Austen Film Locations: Pemberley

Basically it is a gorgeous fictional country house dreamed up by Jane Austen, she was inspired by Chatsworth House, home of our dear Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. Chatsworth is used for the filming of this mini series and it is just lovely ;)
